Exit Strategy from Iraq

A very special thanks to American Thinker for this pointer to American Digest. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they call it a "pincher" action

The Skies are Finally Safe, or are they?

Michell Malkin has a story posted on her site Jan 14 about box cutters found in overhead baggage compartments. The story starts out like this.

"Physician blogger Dr. Bob says one of his patients, a federal air marshal, told him about a foiled hijacking involving boxcutters hidden in overhead luggage bins:

It Takes A Church...: Blog, for Christs sake.

Pastor Tod Bolsinger .It Takes A Church...: Blog, for Christs sake. makes a great case for pastors blogging. Thankfully my pastor says he has wanted to write for sometime and seems open to this new form of communication. Pray that the time will be well spent.

21st Century Reformation

Brad has some very intriguing ideas over at 21st Century Reformation: I Predict Morally Beautiful Community Here is a small taste:

"As a Christian, I, and I imagine my peers, emphasize the need to mobile the church and men and women of certain talents to cultivate those gifts to promote change in the common places where people of all walks of life interact."

I for one am looking forward to what he has to say.

Captain Jack Punches

Hugh Hewitt has a great reminder for us this morning. A story about one Captain Jack Punches, killed in the Pentagon on 9/11. I hope we never tire of being reminded. I will not live the rest of my life in fear, but by God's grace I will live it with more resolve to stand watch against the personal evil that stands ready to destroy the witness of what God has done in my life through Jesus Christ. I shall also stand against the evil that many in this world would bring upon this country and its desire to have freedom reign, rather than fear. So help us Lord Jesus.

On Wings of Eagles

I received an email today from a friend of mine who is mourning the lost of her beloved almost two years ago today. Some have advised her to "don't live in the past" or "you have to get on with your life". Thankfully she has a very wise stepson name Larry who has given her wisdom and comfort from above.

He said "don't measure the time of your grief by someone else" Then he said, "I can tell you that you will not be over with the grieving until you have had all of "it" un-knotted from your stomach, dislodged from your heart and pulled out thru your tear ducts." He also said, "I believe that God uses special people in our lives to help us understand what love means and to learn to want more of it. When those people are taken from us, the world can offer some temporary pseudo-replacements but our Father offers to fill the void with His matchless and everlasting love."

The title of this post contains the words of a hymn that pulled some more of "it" through those tear ducts. Bless God for surrounding us with people with godly wisdom!
